Auto insurance is mandatory in the state of Oregon. Although these are state required minimums the insurance industry, most consumer groups and most agents typically recommend a minimum of $100,000 of bodily injury protection per person and $300,000 per accident. Additional coverage, such as medical payments, uninsured motorist coverage, comprehensive and collision are also advisable.
